Social Anxiety Experience:
I have found that SA is the issue that potentia l clients ask about t e most and accordingly in full time private practice, I have treated a considerable amount of clients successfully. I very much adhere to the Clarke and Wells model when working with individuals who are socially anxious and find that the combination of psycho-education, cognitive restructuring, and behavioural experiments very effective for clients in enabling them to manage their SA.
Qualifications:
In 2008 I completed an MA in CBT in UCC in Cork, my primary degree is in Counselling (Person Centered). I also have Diplomas in Addiction and Stress Management I nstruction. I am BABC accredited CBT therapist, as well as being accredited by IACP. I work part time as the first dedicated CBT therapist in student counselling in CIT and full time private practice, within both populations SA is one of the biggest issues that clients are presenting with. She has worked as an academic psychologist for many years, firstly in UCC and latterly as Head of the Psychology Department in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.
